Simonetta Di Pippo

Simonetta Di Pippo, astrophysicist, currently Professor of Space Economy and Director SEE Lab (SDA Bocconi) and visiting professor at NYUAD. Previously, Director of UNOOSA, of Human Spaceflight at ESA, of the Observation of the Universe at ASI. Author of Space Economy – the new frontier for development and The Moon, a lab for peace. IAA Academician and WEF Global Future Council on space member. In 2009, she founded WIA-Europe and in 2017 became a UN International Gender Champion. In 2008, IAU named asteroid 21887 “dipippo“. Hubert Curien award winner, she entered in 2022 the IAF Hall of Fame. Currently she is also President of D-Orbit S.p.A. and Member of the Board of Directors of RINA S.p.A. 2024 Forbes 50 over 50.
